Florida Drummer Murdered At Sunday Jam Session

A fixture of Florida’s Fort Lauderdale music scene, drummer Jimmy Pagano was murdered on Sunday during a late-night melee following his regular weekly gig at Fishtales Bar & Grill.
At 3:30 a.m., following his band’s final set, 38-year-old Brian Edward Krebs got into an argument with the bartender over the amount of his tab. Krebs was thrown out for refusing to pay, but returned shortly afterward brandishing two steak knives, and resumed his argument. When the 54-year-old drummer tried to intervene, he was stabbed in the neck by Krebs and fell to the floor.
As Pagano laid bleeding excessively from his neck wound, other patrons and bar staff leapt onto Krebs, who subsequently wounded five other people before being subdued and reportedly beaten badly enough to be hospitalized.
