Nate Morton Finds A New Voice

Drummer Nate Morton fuels the house band for The Voice... the hottest new show on NBC."The Voice" is a vocal competition series modeled after Holland's top-rated vocal talent discovery show, "The Voice of Holland." Hosted by Carson Daly, the show features four musician coaches: Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, who will coach only the most talented vocalists.

The contestants will have no problem feeling the groove with Nate Morton in the drum chair. This isn't his first experience perfoming for a reality-based talent show. He was the drummer for MTV'sRock The Cradle and CBS' Rock Star  and was featured highly on both series. When it came time to choose a kit for The Voice, Nate tells us why he instantly knew which series he'd use...

"The Masterworks Series drums are indisputably the industry standard for outstanding sound and quality. The Voice playlist spans multiple genres including Pop, Rock, R&B, Dance, and Country, so I needed a versatile set-up. The current dimensions I'm playing include a 22" bass drum, 8", 10", 12" toms, 14", 16", 18" floor toms and a 20" gong drum. My primary snare is the old Pearl 14"x6.5 Steve Ferrone Signature drum. (note: Pearl's new 14x6.5 SBR1465SF is a remake of the Ferrone Signature drum). Additionally, my favorite color is blue and the drums are a beautiful Phoenix Blue with custom pin striping by Orange County Choppers."

Nate has brought along his Demon Drive Pedals and is continuing his use of the ICON Rack. "I have always appreciated the rock solid ICON Rack System. Like all of Pearl's hardware, it is simple, practical, elegant and virtually indestructible. The drums look and sound amazing! Special thanks to Pearl for the kit...  I will always treasure them and my relationship with the best drum manufacturer on the planet."
