Sonor Beech Infinite Kits Sport Unusual Finishes

Summer’s right around the corner, which means it’s almost time to hit the beech ... wood, that is. And Sonor has made it even easier with the introduction of the Beech Infinite Special Edition drum set. Engineered and manufactured in the company’s factory in Bad Berleburg-Aue, Germany, these drums feature cross-laminated plies of German beech fashioned into 8mm bass drum shells and 6mm tom and snare shells. They are finished in a truly unique, hand painted “Soft Touch” surface, which is velvety to the touch and comes in Crème Lacquer and Black colors. The shell pack includes a beefy virgin 22" x 20" bass drum, 14" x 6" snare, and shallow sized toms in 10" x 7" and 12" x 8", and 14" x 12" and 16" x 14" floor toms. “But why beech?” Funny you should ask. The wood species is known for delivering a tone that lies between the fatness of maple and higher range of birch, which will add a smidgeon of control to the kit’s cannon-like kick drum.
